GRABA Scholarships

The Grand Rapids Area Basketball Association (GRABA) offers registration scholarships to ensure every child has the opportunity to play, regardless of financial circumstances.

The program operates on a volunteer-hour exchange system, where the amount of financial assistance received correlates directly to the number of volunteer hours committed by the family.

Mandatory Requirements

To qualify and maintain a scholarship, applicants must meet three baseline expectations:

• Player Commitment: The player must fully commit to attending all practices and games as scheduled by their respective House Coach.
• Complete Application: A parent, guardian, or head of household must fill out the form entirely. Incomplete submissions are not reviewed.
• Volunteer Fulfillment: A family member must complete the required volunteer hours (typically working gates or concessions at home tournaments) based on the scholarship tier selected.

Scholarship Tiers & Volunteer Commitments

Families can request different levels of assistance depending on their needs. The volunteer hours scale proportionally:

Full (100%) Scholarship - 10.0 volunteer hours

Three-Quarter (75%) Scholarship - 7.5 volunteer hours

Half (50%) Scholarship - 5.0 volunteer hours

Quarter (25%) Scholarship - 2.5 volunteer hours

Failure to complete the required volunteer hours will make the family ineligible for future scholarship opportunities.

Scholarship Applications are due no later than September 30th.
